The Gordon Highlander's and their affiliated units on the occasion of the

Gordon's Bi-Centenary.

The CTH was affiliated to The Gordon Highlanders in the early 1930's. This link remained (although informally) after South Africa left the Commonwealth in 1961, but in 1994 was formally renewed when the CTH affiliated to The Highlanders ( the regiment formed when the Gordons and the Queen's Own Highlanders amalgamated in 1994). The CTH has always modelled itself on the Gordons and as a result there are numerous similarities as regards uniform, regimental usages and regimental music. Being manned by proud South Africans, however, it has never been a carbon copy, and has always maintained a distinctive "signature" of its own. Through The Highlanders, the CTH is affiliated with other Highland regiments in Australia, Canada and London.
