We have started a
Picture Gallery, which needs to be expanded over time.
The band are keen participants in the Pipe Band of South Africa championships. As such, it has to travel away to Gauteng or Natal to compete three times a year. This is very expensive, and means that fundraising is an important part of the band's activities. During 1998 the band was promoted to Grade One in the PBSA competition circuit, since it had won the Grade Two championship two years running.
The severe cutbacks in the funding of the SANDF has meant that the Band is entirely dependent on private transport to attend competitions. We are very grateful for the support we have received over the years from a number of organisations.
The Band raised the funds necessary to compete in four competitions (Perth, North Berwick, Worlds, Crieff) during August 1998. We travelled to Scotland from the 3rd August to 18th. We stayed at the Glasgow Nautical College in Thistle Street, Glasgow.
The band spent 5 weeks in Scotland during July/August 2002 to participate in the Royal Tribute and the Tattoo itself.
The band spent 5 weeks in Scotland during July/August 2004 with the SA Navy Band.
Thanks to Sponsors Monarch Assurance

The Band is currently lead by P/M Charles Canning and Drum Sergeant Ashley Henderson. Strength is about 16 pipers and 8 drummers.
The Band is always keen to train pipers and drummers. Please contact P/M Charles Canning at (021) 422 1666 during office hours.
We have made the first CD (Under the Table) produced by a South African Pipe Band. We would like you to order it, since all proceeds go towards Band expenses.
